This inteview about Midlifexpress was given to Women Entreprenuers in June 2009.

1/How did you come up with your business name?
I was trying to combine the idea of midlife and having a good time. Midlifexpress seemedperfect for conveying the idea of midlife being in the fast lane.

2/What is the toughest thing about being in small business?
Having to do everything yourself, particularly having to work full time and trying to updatethe site content and promote the site after work.

3/What is your greatest achievement to date?
Getting feedback from people who’ve looked at the site and think that I’m really creatingsomething special for women.

4/If you could change one thing about your business what would it be?
That I had more time to work on the business and that I had the money to employ somewomen.

5/Who inspires you?
Douglas Adams was inspirting (the guy who wrote Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy) hewas intelligent, humorous and was trying to alert everyone to the problems of globalwarming long before Al Gore.

6/What did you want to do when you were a little girl?
I wanted to be a Vetinarian.

7/Your favourite book, web site, magazine and song?
Favorite book would be?

I probably don't have a favorite book now but as a teenager it wasCastle Roogna, a humorous take on the fantasy genre.
Website?
There are a lot of great sites out there but Youtube would have to be one of thebest, a complete entertainment package on the computer.
Magazine?
Probably Cosmos though I used to love Vanity Fair.

8/Best small biz tip?
Try and do something everyday that contributes to your business no matter how small.

9/What is the best thing about being in small business?
Knowing that something unique had been created from my idea.

10/How’s your work/life balance? (and if it works, how do you do it?)
Moved to Tassie to get a work/life balance because Melbourne was so hectic. Seems to be workingso far.
