The Sage is a seeker of truth, knowledge, and clarity. They understand the limits of acquiring knowledge for its own sake so they make a priority of devising ways to share it so as to benefit themselves and others. This may entail teaching, writing a book or creating an original idea or work of art. Ultimately, they see that knowledge without insight lacks wisdom.
If The Sage seeks expression at midlife you will feel an intense need to think, reflect and contemplate. You may be impelled to undertake academic study or to explore some of the more esoteric intellectual systems such as astrology, the Enneagram or theosophy. Whether it be in academia or the esoteric, the key element here is The Sage's need to acquire knowledge, wisdom, and skill in order to be of maximum benefit. If you can bring this archetypal energy into conscious awareness in a healthy way, you are likely to have profound insights into the nature of reality which you can then apply for the enrichment of the Earth.
