“If you’re not a socialist at the age of 20 you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative at the age of 40, you have no brain.”

This popular maxim has been used many times to describe the political idealism of youth. An idealism that fades, however, as one supposedly becomes older and wiser.

Thankfully, nobody appears to be listening at Films for Action. This site, full of documentaries by passionate filmmakers, clearly keeps the ideals of socialism and democracy alive and well amongst all demographics.

The documentaries range from five minute introductory trailers to full length features. Topics include education, activism, sustainability, war, philosophy, media, permaculture, corporations, drugs, climate change, consumerism, and lots more.

Most of the films can be viewed free of charge, while others can be ordered as a DVD. They also range in quality from professional productions to poor quality Youtube videos. The content, however, is excellent and thought provoking.

Check them out — they may even inspire you to resurrect your long-dead socialist spirit.
