If life were a bowl of Sims!

Here’s a quirky site on the social media platform Quora that grabs my attention. Oliver Emberton’s  A better life  gives self improvement, career and life advice as well as ways to avoid procrastinating.

His latest post, How to master your life, recommends learning key life skills from characters in The Sims — a popular 21st Century lifestyle game. Players are responsible for the characters’ lives, including their financial, emotional, professional and family situations. Unfettered by real life’s consequences, they take risks and avoid agonising over decisions.

This frees them to pursue their dreams.

Emberton suggests we could be happier and better people if we become as spontaneous as our Sims counterparts.

His short posts mix cartoons, quotes, data and cute illustrations (with instructions on how to draw them).

He gives cheerful and practical advice underpinned by a good sense of humor and, no doubt, he has a better life than most.
