Sometimes I stumble across an inspiring TED Talk. Draw your future by Patti Dobrowolski is one of these.
When Patti was young she felt like a failure.
Her acting career had ended abruptly after a particularly nasty review.
Humiliated and embarrassed, Patti fled town and moved to another city. She found a job sweeping leaves and pulling weeds.
Her life trajectory was a long way from what she’d imagined.
Then one day she decided to draw her future.
To her amazement, these drawings manifested into reality. She began to experience success. Her life grew more purposeful.
She drew more scenarios. These also manifested. Soon, people began to notice. They asked how drawing could create a new reality.
Dobrowolski explains that drawing your future is more effective than a vision board and needs no artistic talent.
Drawing is about feeling the depth of your emotions and projecting that desire forward. It provides your vision with purpose.
I drew my future after I watched the video and two years later I looked at it again only to find that most of my drawing had materialized.
Patti is on to something powerful and is a now a popular motivational speaker.
This extraordinary technique is about as unique and creative as it gets.
I thoroughly recommend you draw your future.
For those who believe they can’t draw their future because they don’t have the skill. I recommend the following video on why people believe they can’t draw.
